Almost 200 million plastic lip balm tubes are binned every year and the vast majority are never recycled. So, we think lips need a shake-up.

- Juicy - A sweet, yet citrusy lip balm scented with pink grapefruit and vanilla.
- So Cocoa - pure decadence, with oodles of organic, fair trade cocoa butter which isn't just fabulous for your lips but smells like a Belgian chocolatier too.
This range is dedicated to doing good; for the planet, for people and of course, for your lips.
Do good for your lips – Hydrates, smooths and nourishes lips, banishing flakes with moringa, castor and jojoba oils alongside loads of cocoa butter. On application of our lip balms, 94% of testers found an immediate improvement in the appearance of dry lips! It's so good, you'll never forget where you left it.
Do good for the planet – 100% plastic-free, home compostable packaging (yes, the tube!).
Do good for people - Carefully crafted with luxurious fairly traded sustainable ingredients from Rwanda, Ghana and Samoa to help support farming cooperatives (predominantly women-owned) in these regions. Direct trade ensures that local growers receive stable prices and, reliable income which means in turn they are better able to look after their community and their environment.
To use: simply push carefully from the bottom of the tube to expose just enough product to use. Apply to lips as needed. It doesn't go down again, so replace lid when finished.

Brianne is the founder and CEO. She started developing formulas in her kitchen at her Christchurch home in 2012 and founded Ethique out of her frustration with the murky supply chains and the amount of waste produced by the cosmetics industry. A qualified biochemist, Brianne works alongside the formulation team to create products and runs the show. Ethique ingredients are chosen with care: they must not have any health risks associated with their use, they must be sustainably produced and biodegradable, they must be plant-based and cruelty-free, and they must be free of palm oil and palm oil derivatives. Ethique has direct trade partnerships in place for many ingredients, including coconut oil which is sourced from a Women’s Cooperative in Samoa. Many ingredients are sourced from peels or seeds that are a by-product of various industries – such as lime, mandarin, or orange oils from the juice industry – making use of a product that would otherwise go to waste.
